Our vision

To build Vaidehi Farm into a trusted destination for thoughtfully grown produce, distinctive plants and a welcoming connection with farm life near Kumarganj.

Our mission

  • Grow flowers and food with care for the soil and attention to the crop.
  • Share an honest picture of what the farm produces in each season.
  • Develop a nursery from the ornamental collection, without selling plants before they are ready.
  • Welcome guests who want a quiet stay beside a working farm.

Our values

We try to be specific about what we do, rather than making broad promises. The values below describe how we work.

  • Care for the soil

Compost, crop rotation and as few chemical inputs as we can manage.

  • Honesty

We describe practices and availability as they are, including what we do not yet know.

  • Seasonal rhythm

Harvests, flowers and guest stays follow the farm calendar.

  • Quality

Grade, packing and timing are agreed at enquiry, crop by crop.

  • Community

Supply for nearby kitchens, florists and families, as well as visitors to Ayodhya.

  • Hospitality

Rooms and the pool sit inside farm life, not apart from it.

How we farm

Care for the soil and attention to the crop

  • Vermicomposting

Farm waste is returned to the soil through composting. A photograph of the beds will follow.

  • Biological crop care

Young capsicum plants in mulched beds inside the net house.

We favour biological methods and keep insecticide use as low as practicable.

  • Pheromone traps

Traps are used as part of crop care. A close photograph is still to come.

  • Protected cultivation

A long row of polyhouses stretching towards fields under a blue sky.

Three polyhouses grow gerberas; a net house shelters coloured capsicum.

  • Gaushala

Cows resting on mats beside a feeding trough in the farm gaushala.

Cattle on the farm are part of the cycle of fodder, dung and compost.

  • Bio-decomposers

Crop residue is broken down on the farm rather than burnt, as part of soil care.

  • Bees and pollination

White bee boxes on stands under a shed as the sun rises.

A small apiary sits among the fields. Bees have access to seasonal flowers such as moringa and mustard.

  • Crop rotation

A field of yellow mustard flowers stretching to a lone tree.

Bengal gram and other field crops take their turn in the open land.

We describe practices, not certifications. If you need organic status, residue tests or a named floral honey, please ask about the specific product and batch.
